today i stepped into cathay for the first time ever since primary school, when i cut through cathay to get to school everyday. i caught "the beat that my heart skipped" at the picturehouse, and i tell you, buying a ticket to the picturehouse is like marrying into royalty. because the tickets come in a nice black wallet that says
THE PICTUREHOUSE, everyone will know that you're holding the golden tickets. snack booth cashiers suddenly become extra smiley and you're politely ushered into a waiting lounge where you sit in nice armchairs, cross your legs imperiously, read intellectual magazines and get your coffee refreshed by the hovering waitresses while waiting for your movie to start. i think they think only the rich and famous have cultivated the fine taste of high art, while peasants laugh themselves silly over Click and The Break-Up.
The Beat That My Heart Skipped gave me plenty to ponder about. what kind of level i'm pushing for in my music, and where i'm heading to with it.
if there's one thing i'm thankful for since coming to aj, it's my re-immersion into music. the frustrations of jc life found itself a new outlet, and i started to pick up my instruments again.
once again i can feel the music coursing through my veins, and i'm glad.
though this really is quite a bad time for me to take an interest in anything other than bernoulli's effect and what not.
